Reading Measurement Scales Lesson
Week #1 Measurement
measurement, using standard units
(millilitres, litres, grams)
BC Curriculum-Grade Math Content
When you are measuring small amounts of food, such as salt what unit of measurement did you use? Litre or millilitre?
Did you use metric units (litre, millilitre, grams) or standard units (teaspoon, tablespoon, cups)?
Understanding Volume
Watch this video lesson by Khan Academy which will introduce you to the idea of measuring volume. You will be focusing on measuring volume for your cooking, baking activity this week.
Choose one of these recipes, or one of your own. Your assignment is to make at least one recipe this week. Pay attention of what tools you use for measuring. Take a picture of what tools you used for measurement and tell me what they are called. Secondly, take a picture of what you cooked or baked. Post a picture or two of yourself and your food that you prepared on your Fresh Grade portfolio by Thursday, April 16.
